New Urgent Care Open in Marlborough

MARLBOROUGH, MA—There is now a new option available for those in need of urgent attention for medical care.

A new UMass Memorial-affiliated CareWell Urgent Care opened on Monday, Sept. 12, at 757 Boston Post Road East (Route 20)

"Now there are even more options to provide you and your family with quality care close to home," said the hospital on its Facebook page.

CareWell Urgent Care and UMass Memorial Health Care announced its affiliation that "improves access to coordinated healthcare for patients in Central Massachusetts" in June of 2015. CareWell centers treat patients for non-life-threatening—but still urgent—illnesses or injuries, including colds, infections, fractures, cuts, rashes, allergic reactions and the flu, said an announcement. Centers offer select preventative care services, including flu shots, vaccinations and sports physical exams, and have on-site X-ray and lab capabilities.

With the affiliation, CareWell patients have easy access to UMass Memorial Health Care specialists and hospitals when necessary.

The first two UMass Memorial-affiliated CareWell Urgent Care centers, located at 500 Lincoln Street and 348 Greenwood Street in Worcester, opened in July of last year.
