Panthers Clinch Central MA Division Boys B-Ball Title

Marlborough took out Concord-Carlisle in the division finals and takes on South Hadley to try for states.

The boys basketball team first took out Medfield in the quarter finals, followed by a 55-40 win over Hopkinton to claim the semi-finals for the Central II division.

And the Panthers marched to the end of the tournament, beating Concord-Carlisle on Saturday in the division final game, 59-45.

Freshman Chris Doherty helped with the victory, pumping in 27 points and 10 rebounds, reported Masslive.com.

Marlborough takes on South Hadley High School on Tuesday, March 10, at 4 p.m. at Mass Mutual for the state semi-finals. If they win, they will face the winner of the Danvers-Bishop-Feehan game at the DCU Center on March 14.
