Plans Underway for Mayor's Charity Relief Ball

MARLBOROUGH, MA — It’s an easy way to help out, and a wonderful way to have a good time with your community.

Plans are underway for the biennial Mayor’s Charity Relief Ball to support the Charity Relief Fund. The celebration includes a Masquerade theme and takes place on Saturday, April 2, from 7 p.m. to midnight at the Holiday Inn & Guest Suites in Marlborough.

“This fund provides assistance to individuals and families in our community who suffer from financial hardships due to a recent job loss, house fire or misfortune beyond their control,” stated Mayor Arthur G. Vigeant. The Mayor’s Charity Ball Committee has arranged entertainment for this year’s Charity Relief Ball to include Jazz Performer Clyde Whitney, DJ Steve Woodard and the band Supplemental Income featuring Tracy Rose and Bobby Tynes.

The evening will include a silent auction, hors d’oeuvres, desserts, coffee, dancing and cash bar.

During the ball, Mayor Vigeant recognizes the recipient of this year’s Humanitarian Award. The award is presented every other year to city residents who have demonstrated an outstanding commitment to serving and enriching the lives of friends, neighbors and the greater community.

Nominations will be accepted until Friday, March 4. To nominate a Marlborough resident, send a letter stating the reason for recognition to the Mayor’s Office, Marlborough City Hall, 140 Main St., Marlborough 01752.
