Quarterly Marlborough Food Drive Happens This Weekend

The regular Marlborough Community Cupboard drive returns Saturday, rain or shine.

MARLBOROUGH, MA — The Marlborough Democratic City Committee will host its quarterly food drive Saturday, part of a regular series of drives the group holds throughout the year. The Jan. 21 collection for the Community Cupboard is seeking a variety of food, household and hygiene items.

The Marlborough Democratic City Committee (MDCC) will hold its winter collection drive of food, personal items, and funds to benefit of the Marlborough Community Cupboard on Jan. 21, rain or shine. MDCC conducts four drives each year.

The Community Cupboard collection will be conducted as a drop-off at the Navin Arena lower parking lot, 451 Bolton St., from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Non-perishable food, personal care items and financial donations, including gift cards, are welcome.

Here's what the cupboard needs:

  • Children’s items, especially diapers, sizes 4-5, and wipes
  • Basic cooking items such as cooking oil and sugar
  • Peanut butter and jelly
  • Canned goods like Spaghetti O's, ravioli, chili, canned soups, canned vegetables and canned beans
  • Breakfast items including all cereals, hot or cold
  • Condiments such as salt, ketchup, mustard and mayonnaise
