Religion & Art outing to the Worcester Art Museum

When we think of religion and art what generally springs to mind are medieval cathedrals in Europe, ancient Roman and Greek statues, and religious paintings. But religion continues to inspire art to this very day!

This is why this year's Faith Forum focus of First Church in Marlborough will be the intersection of religion and art - including contemporary pieces. This past Sunday was our inaugural trip to the Worcester Art Museum. Guided by our brilliant docent Virginia Powell-Brasier (with whom we discovered a number of connections) sixteen friends and members of First Church were given a fascinating glimpse to a number of pieces at the Museum. Nancy Spiro's "Cri de Coeur" resonated with a number of us.
