MARLBOROUGH, MA — Human remains found in a small Western Massachusetts town over the weekend belong to a former Marlborough resident who disappeared in 2014, according to Hampden County officials. Milton Eldredge, 59, was last seen five years ago near his home in Blandford.

Eldredge's skull was found by hunters Sunday morning in a wooded area off Herrick Road, according to WCVB — that's where he lived before he disappeared in 2014, according to state police.

The skull found over the weekend was sent to a medical examiner for testing, and was later confirmed to belong to Eldredge. No other remains were found nearby. He lived for many years in the Northampton area, and lived in Marlborough and at a rehabilitation facility in Westborough, state police said in 2014.
