Remembering those less fortunate this Thanksgiving Feed A Family

The Marlborough Community Cupboard (MCC), a direct service of the United Way of Tri-County (UWTC), is once again offering neighbors in need bags full of groceries for an entire Thanksgiving meal this November.

With costs for everything increasing across the board; sky-high food prices, home heating fuel, electricity, and gas, family budgets are being tested like never before.

For the thousands of individuals and families who seek assistance at MCC each month, knowing they can count on the Marlborough Community Cupboard to provide their families with a holiday turkey and all the fixings is a blessing.

“We’ve all felt the pinch at the grocery store over the last year”, said Barbara LaGrenade, Marlborough Community Cupboard Director. “Food prices just keep going up, and individuals and families, living week-to-week or seniors on fixed incomes, cannot absorb these costs increases, that’s why we’re here. We can help supplement an individual or family’s grocery needs, giving them some breathing room, especially around the holidays.”

LaGrenade goes on to say “By supporting families we are doing more than providing a Thanksgiving meal. We are giving families the ability to come together, create memories, and build on traditions for years to come.”

The Thanksgiving food distribution will be held on Tuesday, November 22 at the Marlborough Community Cupboard, located in the Walker Building at 255 Main Street in Marlborough. All MCC food pantry clients have been instructed to pick up their groceries between 9:00am – noon. Anyone else in need of a turkey is asked to arrive between noon to 2:00pm while supplies last. Turkeys’ will be distributed outside the food pantry on Rawlins Ave. in Marlborough.

Donations for Feed A Family can be made online, at www.uwotc.org/feed or text “FEED” to 91999. Donors also have the option to mail a check made payable to the Marlborough Community Cupboard, Feed-A-Family, 255 Main Street, Marlborough, MA 01752.
