Repairs to the Peter Rice Homestead to Begin

The home to the Marlborough Historical Society will get a much needed update soon.

MARLBOROUGH, MA – Another repairs is set to begin soon at the Marlborough Historical Society.

Crews are beginning to regrade the yard of the 1688 Peter Rice Homestead thanks to a $4,200 grant from the Marlborough Brigham Family Trust, reports the Worcester Telegram and Gazette. The work involves building a drain to direct water away from the historic house.

The Peter Rice Homestead is located at 377 Elm St. was owned for six generations by the Rice family, and then was used for soldiers returning from WWII. It was deeded to the Marlborough Historical Society in the 1960s.
