Seniors Can Apply For Marlborough Tax Work-Off Program
The program allows Marlborough seniors to shave $1,000 of property taxes by volunteering.

MARLBOROUGH, MA — Marlborough seniors can now apply to take part in a tax-reduction program in exchange for volunteer work.
The senior tax work-off program allows property owners over age 60 (among other eligibility requirements) to get $1,000 off their tax bills. Fifteen seniors will be chosen to perform a variety of volunteer tasks, from painting fire hydrants to greeting visitors at City Hall.
If the program receives more than 15 applications, the city will hold a lottery to draw names. The volunteer work will take place between September and December.
