UPS Driver Killed Along Route 20 In Marlborough
An off-duty officer was the first on scene when Marc Gautreau, 51, was hit Thursday evening.
MARLBOROUGH, MA — A 51-year-old UPS driver died Thursday night after a driver hit him along Route 20 in Marlborough, according to police. The crash happened just before 6:30 p.m., and forced police to detour traffic off the busy road.
According to police, Marc Gautreau was crossing in the eastbound lanes near Wildwood Steakhouse when a driver in an SUV hit him. An off-duty policeman was nearby and was the first to give medical aid. The man was pronounced dead at Marlborough Hospital at around 7 p.m.
The Central Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council and Marlborough police are investigating the incident. The driver of the SUV stayed at the scene.
