Shawna J. Larassa Motorcycle Ride Returns To Marlborough
The motorcycle ride is a fundraiser for a scholarship dedicated to Larassa, who died in 2009 after a car crash in Dudley.
MARLBOROUGH, MA — What has been one of the largest charity motorcycle rides in Massachusetts will return in 2021. Organizers plan to hold the first Shawna J. Larassa ride in several years in August.
The SJL ride raises money for a scholarship fund set up by Larassa's father, George Larassa, in memory of his daughter. She died in 2009 at age 19 in a car crash in Dudley after leaving a friend's home in Charlton.
Larassa, who was born in Framingham, was a graduate of Bartlett High School in Webster, and had just completed her freshman year at Johnson & Wales University when she died, according to her obituary.
