Shrewsbury Resident, Marlborough Student 8th in Country for Auto Refinishing
Congrats to this student for placing eighth in the entire country for automotive refinishing.

Last week, during what is considered a grueling competition - SkillsUSA - Hailey Escobar, a 2015 graduate of the Assabet Valley Automotive Collision program, tested her skills against students from across the nation.
Escobar, along with the Assabet Skills advisors Kerri Baltramaitis and Bruce Long and Superintendent Ernie Houle, traveled to Louisville on Monday.

The written exams were scheduled for Wednesday, the practical exams on Thursday, followed by a debriefing, and then, finally, the Awards Ceremony on Friday evening.
Escobar finished 8th overall in the nation in her Automotive Refinishing Technology category, according to an announcement.

“The Assabet Valley family is very proud of Hailey and her accomplishment, and wishes her the best as she now heads off to Smith College to start a whole new career. With her drive and dedication, there is no doubt in our minds that she will be successful there as well,” commented Houle in a release.
Escobar is the daughter of Peggy and Kennedy Escobar of Shrewsbury.
