Streets Lined With Blue at Trooper Thomas Clardy's Funeral Service

Many thousands pay their respects to Trooper Clardy, who was killed last Wednesday in an accident on the Mass. Turnpike.

HUDSON, MA — Scores of law enforcement personnel, as well as friends, family and the community, paid their final respects to Trooper Thomas L. Clardy on Tuesday. In Hudson blue lined the streets as thousands from the Massachusetts State Police came from barracks all over the state to say goodbye, and give thanks. WCVB estimates some 10,000 in law enforcement attended Tuesday's service.

Clardy was killed last Wednesday when he was parked on the Mass. Pike while issuing a traffic ticket, a driver slamming into his cruiser. He was 44.
