MARLBOROUGH, MA — A Marlborough teen started a farm stand with his family in 2019. Now years later, it's helping to feed the hungry.

Peter Matijevic and his four brothers run Charity Farmstand at 131 Clover Hill St. The stand has grown from a small table to a market that sells vegetables and eggs from the family's garden.

The farmstand boasts its low prices and never uses sprays or chemicals. You can find fresh tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, beans, squash, zucchini, garlic and eggplant.

Matijevic, who is going to be a senior at Advanced Math & Science Academy in Marlborough, said the farmstand grew in popularity as their neighbors love their fresh produce.

"At first, we enjoyed making a little money, but our mom reminded us that we've never gone without food," said Matijevic.

That's when Matijevic and his brothers decided to donate all of the proceeds to the Marlborough Food Pantry to help families in need.

"The farmstand is our family's charity," said Matijevic. "It's a way for us to feed our local community while giving back to the greater community as well."

The farmstand is open from 9 a.m. to dusk, and you can pay by cash or Venmo.
