Students Place Fourth in Women of Science Competition

A group of AMSA students from the Advanced CAD class and 1080 Racing Team competed on Dec. 14 in the 12th annual Women of Science Competition at Bedford High School.

Six students—Payal Patel, Raysa Rivera-Bergollo, Anjalee Gunaratnam, Elizabeth Texiera, Anagha Indic, and Anjana Shenoy—competed in an engineering challenge. They took fourth place from among 34 teams.

The team accumulated points by participating in various activities, including trivia games and marketing exercises.

Anjalee, a junior, described the experience as “very educational, but fun.” She thought it was a good opportunity to branch out and experience the variety of topics.

The CAD classes will most likely not compete again, but more competitions await the 1080 Racing Team later this year.
