“The trend in recent years towards preserving historic former industrial mills by converting them into multifamily housing, bolstered by the increased use of federal and state historic credits to lower costs, has created the extraordinary demand that continues to fuel our growth. It’s rewarding to see our products in these historic mills that date back 150 years” said Tony Muraco, CEO of Universal Window and Door.

In addition, the energy efficiency achieved by using the aluminum replacement windows allows developers to achieve the coveted LEED ratings with their projects. As a result, the firm has partnered with industry leaders on award-winning projects such as the Ames Shovel Works, the Wilber School, the Bennett School and Loft Five50 (the former Malden Mills) in Lawrence.
