What's Open, Closed In Marlborough On Patriots' Day
Patriots' Day, April 18, is a state holiday in Massachusetts. Find out if your trash will get picked up and if the bank will be open.

MARLBOROUGH, MA — Patriots' Day is Monday. Only Massachusetts and Maine recognize the holiday, which is also the same day as the Boston Marathon.
For most people in Massachusetts, it's a day off from work or school. Patriots' Day also marks the Battles of Lexington and Concord, which kicked off the Revolutionary War.
Here's a handy list of what's open (and closed) in the Bay State on Patriots' Day:

- Marlborough trash/recycling pickup: No pickup on April 19, the day after Patriots' Day.
- Supermarkets, liquor stores, and convenience stores: Open
- Retail stores: Most open
- Bars and restaurants: Open
- Stock market: Open
- City Offices: Closed
- State offices: Closed
- Federal offices: Open
- Library: Closed
- Public Schools: Closed. Monday marks the beginning of school vacation week.
- Post office: Open
- MWRTA: No fixed route or Catch Connect service.
- MBTA: All subway lines will be operating on a regular weekday schedule, with added service before and after the marathon.
On Marathon Monday, various bus routes on both the North and South sides will be detoured. Due to congestion, bikes are not allowed on any MBTA vehicles on Patriots' Day. An all-day pass is being offered for the Framingham/Worcester line, which traces part of the marathon route. Copley Station will be closed all day Monday.
