Whitcomb's Kellie Campbell Named Masonic Teacher of the Year

The seventh grade English language arts teacher was named Masonic Teacher of the Year.

Last week, seventh grade teacher Kellie Campbell returned to class, as did her students, and it was interrupted. But happily.

They had just returned from lunch and representatives from the Marlborough United Brethern of Masons, Superintendent Richard Langlois, and Whitcomb Principal Mary Murphy surprised Campbell with balloons, flowers and the news that she’d been named the Marlborough Mason’s teacher of the year.

“From the start of the school year, it’s Kellie’s mission to make all her students feel comfortable inside and outside the classroom,” wrote colleague and Whitcomb paraeducator Heather Roach in her nomination of Campbell. “She empowers all of her students to achieve success, providing them with necessary tools and skills to achieve throughout the year.”

The Masons also hosted a reception in honor of Campbell and teacher-of-the-year finalists Jessica Hey and Karen Markey – also Whitcomb teachers on Thursday, May 14, at the Masonic Brethern Lodge.
