7 Hurt in Edgartown Bus Crash

Police said a driver pulling an illegal U-turn crashed into a bus carrying 30 passengers in Edgartown. Seven were hospitalized.

EDGARTOWN, MA — Seven people were hurt in Edgartown Tuesday morning when a transit authority bus was struck by a negligent driver, police said.

The crash happened on Beach Road. Police said Mark Anderson, 59, of Fargo, North Dakota, was driving a vehicle and tried to pull a U-turn but struck a Martha's Vineyard Transit Authority bus, which was carrying about 30 people. Seven bus passengers were hospitalized with minor injuries.

Anderson was cited for failing to yield.
