Boys Basketball Edged in State Semifinal at TD Garden
A historic Martha's Vineyard High School season came to an end after the Vineyarders couldn't put home a desperation tying three at the buzzer.

A historic Martha's Vineyard High School boys basketball season came to an end on the parquet floor of Boston's TD Garden on Tuesday night as the Vineyarders lost, 50-47, in the Division 3 state semifinal contest.
Izak Browne led all scorers with 17 points but his desparation three at the buzzer missed wide left, eliminating the Vineyarders one win short of the state title game.
"They'll be disappointed tonight and that's the way it is when you lose a game of this magnitude with a chance to win a state title, which is not something that comes up very often," said head coach Michael Joyce. "But I think as people start talking about it, they'll get an idea of how neat this was, and not just for them, but for the people on The Island."
