Bergin Named Appalachian Athletic Conference Player of the Year
The Shark's have a future superstar on their hands.

The Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) announced the 2011 Baseball All-Conference Team and Awards on Tuesday. To no one’s surprise future Sharks player David Bergin of Tennessee Wesleyan College was named the Player of the Year. Bergin made the “All-AAC Team” twice this season as a designated hitter and as a pitcher to earn him the Player of the Year award. During the season, Bergin tied the NAIA National record for the most home runs hit in a single game by connecting on five HRs.
With Bergin making the All-AAC Team at two different positions, Tennessee Wesleyan occupied six total spots on the 17-person team with five players. In addition to Bergin, future Sharks outfielder Sam Munson was named to the All-Conference team. Tennessee Wesleyan placed three players on the nine-person Gold Glove Team, which also included Munson.
