Edible Flowers

Add a little bloom to your meals!

As a gardener, I love learning about new plants and after traveling through Northern Thailand this winter, I have become interested in herbal remedies of plants & flowers! Some that I find interesting are: Dandelion- the cute yellow blossom popping up all over our yards right now. Filled with A,C,D and B vitamins, as well as iron! The greens are very bitter, and word in the gardens this week is that the yellow buds are delicious in a saute!

Pansy’s are one of the cutest flowers, and make a great topping on salads or desserts, though I haven’t found a whole lot of healing properties in them (besides an ancient love potion which I have yet to try).

Nasturtiums have antimicrobial properties, meaning they are good in treating infections! Their peppery taste is great on salads!
