Madonna Over the Hill?

Ginger's Corner is a humor blog touching on current topics discussed in the "10 items or less" line at Cronig's, Stop 'n Shop and Reliable.

First of all, my sympathy goes out to all New England Patriot fans. The Super Bowl score at the end of four was a real bummer, but you can't help but love that Eli Manning. Whoooooooo, can he thread a needle or what?  I guess that gorgeous wife, Gisele Bundchen, keeps our Tom tuckered out, not to mention his ailing left shoulder, but you can't win'em all; it keeps you humble. I'm old enough to remember Roger Staubach's "Hail Mary Pass" against the Vikings in 1975; I was a loyal Dallas Cowboy's fan back then.

A lot of us gals watched the game just to see the commercials and Madonna's half-time show which were both kind of ho-hum in my opinion.  First of all, the material girl stumbled right at the beginning; geez, I thought it was all over. You have to be surefooted as a goat to sashay around in those 5-inch Jimmy Choo's. Elton John was sticking pin in his voodoo doll's feet no doubt cause her moves were rather wooden and the male dancers were kinda holding her up throughout her routine. The gladiator theme and costumes didn't do anything to liven things up either. The high point of the half-time event was the appearance of rapper Nicki Minaj. She had the joint rockin'. Ayuh. Madonna friends M.I.A. and Cee Lo Green also made an appearance.  We kept looking for the fiftiesh rock legend to whip off her studded togs and show us her perfect body, but nooooo, she disappeared down a hole like Sadam Hussein in a cloud of dust -- and that was that.  Can't wait for next year to see who's picked for the half-time gig. I vote for Johnny Hoy.
