Museum Opens Exhibition on the Chappy Ferry

Fallen in love with The Chappy Ferry book? See it come to life in the Museum's latest exhibit opening in the Spotlight Gallery Saturday, November 24th.

Fallen in love with The Chappy Ferry book? See it come to life in the Museum’s latest exhibit opening in the Spotlight Gallery Saturday, November 24th. Chappy Ferry author Tom Dunlop has joined the Museum curators to guest curate an exhibition that explores the story of this enigmatic ferry.

The exhibit looks at different eras of the Chappy Ferry and will include images, some not included in the book. It will also feature an oral history with Chappy Ferry owner Peter Wells. An illustration of the mechanics of the ferry drawn by Dana Gaines will also be shown.

Says Chief Curator Bonnie Stacy, “It has been great working with Tom to put this exhibit together. During his initial research, he came across so much material in our archives that couldn’t all fit in the book. I’m glad we can showcase it for Chappy Ferry enthusiasts and Museum visitors.”
