Rick Herrick, Kate Hancock, and Ben Willmott present Lighthouse Point Play with MV Museum

Lighthouse Point is a musical play set in East Chop created by Rick Herrick (playwright), Kate Hancock, (song lyrics), and Ben Willmott (music).

The Martha’s Vineyard Museum is excited to welcome Rick Herrick, Kate Hancock, and Ben Willmott to the Martha’s Vineyard Film Center to present their collaborative play Lighthouse Point to the public for the first time.

Lighthouse Point is a musical play set in East Chop created by Rick Herrick (playwright), Kate Hancock, (song lyrics), and Ben Willmott (music). The play deals with a problem encountered by many people especially on the Vineyard: passing a family home onto the next generation. Lighthouse Point depicts four generations of one family. The juggling of interests that unfolds makes the entire situation very complex. Herrick, Hancock, and Willmott will lead a discussion following the play reading.

Dr. Rick Herrick is a former professor and magazine editor. He received his PhD from Tulane University, and is the author of The Case Against Evangelical Christianity. In addition, he has two published novels, Uncommon Woman and A Week in October, and is working on his third, Bridging the Divide. He splits his time between Colorado and Oak Bluffs.
