The #1 Fear? Public Speaking.

  The number 1 fear is not snakes or spiders, flying or falling, but public speaking!  Whether you're asked to give a presentation, speak your mind at a town meeting, or give a reading at your church, large groups or small, the fear of public speaking is very real.  I personally fear public speaking almost as much as I fear creepy crawly things.  In college I helped to start a Toastmasters on campus and wished to continue here on MV.  Only there was no local group for me to join.  So with the help of some friends we've started our own.

  Martha's Vineyard Toastmasters is here to help you become a confident communicator.  "Toastmasters International is a non-profit educational organization that teaches public speaking and leadership skills through a worldwide network of meeting locations."  Locally we work together in a non-judgemental environment to help you develop speaking and leadership skills.

  Join us on Wednesday March 27th for our first meeting, 7-8:30pm at the VH American Legion Post 257.  It will be interesting, educational and fun! It's an active and affordable way to learn public speaking and leadership skills in a supportive group. You will also make new friends and business contacts in the process! Come on 3/27 and listen to 4 experienced speakers from the district Toastmasters conduct a sample meeting. In April, the meeting dates change to the first and third Wednesday of each month, same time and place.
