I originally was going to only advise against letting readers post their thoughts, directly, without gaining your approval.....If said reader would be crude, obscene or otherwise  "out of order"... that  would be a problem, no?

Now, after reading your brief bio...  I suggest your travels  west and back ...will serve you in good stead, the way  Mark Twain's  did.
<My bio is a bit similar:  I grew up in the same type family in Boston, and left, at 24, to answer the siren call of San Francisco.....  That led to my happy and ongoing marriage and two adult daughters.
The younger is now 31, and got her Harvard Ph.D. last December, and is a Professor at Arizona State University....  We really enjoyed her 6 years at Harvard, and got to love all that Cambridge and Boston have...
During that time, we have been to Oak Bluffs, a couple of times, and, on the surface...its  communal lifestyle seems  wonderful.  The books  "City in the Woods", and "The Unbroken Circles"  should be read by anyone who wants to catch the flavor of the Camp Meeting Association.
We'll be in Cambridge and Oak Bluffs at the end of next month, to celebrate Heather Pon-Barry's  Graduation  Ceremonies.,  and to conjure how best to "get more of the magic of Oak Bluffs..."..

ps:  If anyone has a cottage we could rent for  two or three days, in the last week of May,  before Heather takes her  Ph.D.  degree up at Harvard.... we would love to hear from them..
