Thomas Latanowich, 28, of Yarmouth, was charged with assault with a dangerous weapon. Police said the victim suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries to his wrist.

Police said the victim had just been released from the state corrections center in Hyannis and was being driven home by his girlfriend. Latanowich tailed their vehicle and when they pulled up to a red light, he got of his vehicle, approached the victim's vehicle, then stabbed the man, police said.

Latanowich was tracked down to the Swan Pond Village area and arrested, police said, adding an officer found the knife in the stabbing in Latanowich's possession. He was held in custody pending an arraignment Thursday.
