DaSilva, Brown Take Firsts in Vineyard Haven Library 5K

Rene DaSilva, 27, finished the 5,000-meter course in 17 minutes, 57 seconds and Katie Brown, 28, crossed the finish line at 24 minutes 6 seconds, according to results released Sunday afternoon.

"Congratulations to Rene DaSilva and Katie Brown, the top male and female finishers in the VH Library Run to the Chop 5k!," posts the Vineyard Haven Public Library on Facebook.

DaSilva, 27, finished the 5,000-meter course in 17 minutes, 57 seconds and Brown, 28, crossed the finish line at 24 minutes 6 seconds, according to results released Sunday afternoon.

It was DaSilva's second consecutive win in the annual library fund-raiser, reports the Martha's Vineyard Times. Both he and Brown are Vineyard Haven residents, according to the newspaper.
