Police said Burnie was driving a silver Honda CR-V sport utility vehicle when he hit an orange Volkswagen bus on Route 6 then left the scene. Burnie continued driving and crashed into a fire hydrant on Bridge Road, police said. He then stole a box truck from someone's home on that road and took it to Main Street, where he ditched the vehicle, police said. Officers said they found him on a bike path and took him into custody.
