Edgartown Board of Trade Kicks Off Christmas in Edgartown by Honoring Claudia Canerdy

Community honors 40 years of service and dedication by Claudia Canerdy.

Last night, the Edgartown Board of Trade officially kicked off Christmas in Edgartown. The weekend reawakens the village of Edgartown and brings roughly 500 much needed people to the island in the off-season.

At the gathering, which took place at the Christina Gallery, located at the intersection of Winter and Water streets, the Board of Trade honored Claudia Canerdy, of Claudia. Canerdy has been in business for more than 40 years and a member of the Board of Trade since its inception. The board decided all her efforts and dedication to the organization was due for some recognition.

Christmas in Edgartown is a prime example of the dedication and organization required from this group of volunteers.

"Claudia is a model for all of us on the board. She has given so much of her time and has stuck with the board through the tough times. She's a phenomenal business woman and a wonderful person," said Annie Cooke-Ennis, vice president of the Board of Trade.
