Five Things to Know: March 1, 2013

Welcome to March on Martha's Vineyard. Here's what we know on the first day of the month.

  1. Your breakfast options have expanded this morning with the reopening of the Scottish Bakehouse and Artcliff Diner. More restaurant openings are on the way this month.
  2. How about helping someone else get breakfast? The Island Food Pantry welcomes monetary donations: PO Box 1874, Vineyard Haven, MA 02568.
  3. The food pantry is open today from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Christ United Methodist Church.
  4. The Martha's Vineyard Film Center is showing 56 UP at 4 p.m.: 79 Beach Rd, Vineyard Haven, $10.
  5. There's an all-ages music jam hosted by Rob Myers tonight at 9 State Rd, Chilmark, 7 p.m., free.
