Food Trucks in Oak Bluffs: Should They Be Banned Downtown?

Food trucks in downtown Oak Bluffs are on hold indefinitely and could be banned, according to the Vineyard Gazette. Is this a good move for the town? Tell us in the comments.

Oak Bluffs selectmen are pondering whether the town should enact a regulation prohibiting food trucks on Circuit Avenue and neighboring downtown streets, according to a report in the Vineyard Gazette.

Comments on the article have taken a back-and-forth tone, with some readers arguing that the man who wants to host a Jamaican-style food truck on his Circuit Avenue property should be allowed to do so this summer, and other saying that food trucks take away business from "brick and mortar" restaurants.

What do you think? Should Oak Bluffs welcome food trucks, or banish them from downtown streets? Tell us in the comments.
