Got the Back to School Jitters?
With little and big ones heading back to school tomorrow, what's in store?

First thing tomorrow morning all of the Island's school children will be packing their back packs and heading in to school. The anticipation around here is coming from both ends—the kids because they're both excited and nervous, and the parents because the late Labor Day year has made the summer seem especially long.
We want to know what Island parents and kids are thinking about this coming school year? What are your plans, your goals? What are some of your worries? What are the kids looking forward to? Have any deals been struck up at your house? My nine-year-old has decided that she will do well in both her schoolwork and homework in exchange for the possibility of a hamster down the road.
What sports are they lined up for? Will they be in band? Orchestra? These are all the things that suddenly become our lives again after what feels like two very long months of not having to think about any of it.

My kids have spent the day sharpening pencils (their idea) and cleaning their rooms (my idea). They are thrilled that they get to see friends and a little nervous about new teachers. They've got outfits chosen, but whether to pack or buy lunch is still on the table.
We'll probably be driving in—because according to them it's a first-day of school tradition. Will your kids be taking the bus? Walking? Will you be taking your kindergartner in for their first day? Will they be eighth graders this year or, better yet, seniors ready to rule the school?
