Calling all line cooks, bakers, sandwich makers, servers and bartenders: The hiring season is underway on Martha's Vineyard.
In another sure sign of the advancing season, job notices from Martha's Vineyard businesses are beginning to pop up like crocuses in the spring.
Increasingly, local managers are using social media to get the word out:
On Twitter, the Scottish Bakehouse (@bakehousemv) recently tweeted that the acclaimed bakery is "Hiring Line Cooks and Bakers....leave name, number and relevant experience at counter or email us!" (According to the bakery's website, the address is info@scottishbakehousemv.com.)

On Facebook, Skinny's Fat Sandwiches announces:
Hey Friends,
We are going into our tenth season at Skinny's down here on the vineyard! We can finally announce that we have partnered with one of the biggest bars on the island! We will open up for the season in just a few short weeks and we can't be more excited. We will roll out a fantastic menu that will be cheap, and of course delicious! Now you can eat some great food while you have a beer or cocktail, play pool, shoot darts, or watch a game on one of the many TVs.

We are looking for lots of upbeat, friendly employees. We need kitchen managers, servers, counter staff, line cooks, prep cooks, dishwashers, basically all foodservice positions. We have every shift available from early morning til late at night. Work in Edgartown or Oak Bluffs.
