Hiring on Martha's Vineyard: WCAI Seeks Fundraising Rep

WCAI in Woods Hole, part of public radio powerhouse WGBH, is looking for a contract development director to work on Martha's Vineyard.
The mission, according to the job posting:
Local Development and Marketing enables the WGBH Educational Foundation to carry out its public media mission by raising annual contributions from individuals and business partners for TV, Radio, and Web program support, as well as special projects at WGBH, WGBY, and WCAI (The Cape and Islands NPR Radio Station). Through database marketing, corporate sponsorship sales, member engagement, relationship building, and traditional and web-based fundraising, the Membership Marketing and Development team provides WGBH with the economic resources to pursue its mission.

Position overview:
- Reporting to the Managing Director of Development at WCAI, the Account Executive will join the sales sponsorship team that secures local business support for the WGBH Educational Foundation.
- This position involves raising funds and securing business support for WCAI, The Cape and Islands NPR Station, a service of WGBH.
- The position is primarily commission based with the majority of time spent meeting with new and existing sponsors primarily on Martha’s Vineyard.
- Planning and participation in community events, station promotions, and on-air fundraisers are also part of the job description, as well as acquiring associated funding for projects as needed.
- WCAI liaison to Martha’s Vineyard funders, including business sponsors, members and major donors.
Requirements:

- Martha’s Vineyard full-year residency is required.
- Media sales experience is preferred but not required.
- Candidate must have familiarity with public media.
- Proficiency with MS Office basics as well as the ability to learn new software programs through training is required.
- Must have own on-island transportation.
- BS or BA is preferred.
