Jimmy Seas Returns to Oak Bluffs Dining Scene

After a long recovery from a crippling off-season break-in, Jimmy Seas Pan Pasta will reopen next week, according to the restaurant's Facebook page.

A popular Oak Bluffs restaurant that suffered a crippling attack of vandalism over the winter is finally preparing to reopen on an as-yet-unspecified date next week, according to a Facebook update posted Friday:

Jimmy Seas will reopen next week! The restaurant opening was delayed this season due to damage caused during a break in.

In an earlier post on the Jimmy Seas Pan Pasta Facebook page, owner James J. Cipolla expressed his appreciation to the community:

We are very grateful for all of the wonderful craftsman on MV that have made this possible. And another huge Thank you to all of our loyal patrons that have been patiently waiting for us to open.... We will post the date as soon as we are certain.

In the mean time, Cipolla has moved a supergroup jam session July 13 to another Oak Bluffs restaurant:

Jim will host a pre-opening bash at Hooked on Saturday night.  Jim had planned to host a group of legendary Rock Stars for dinner this weekend but due to construction delays has moved the party to Hooked. The night will feature Mike Martin and Los Rootsticks along with some very special guest musicians.

The expected legends include Jeff "Skunk" Baxter from Steely Dan and the Doobie Brothers, Barry Goodreau and Fran Sheehan former members of the band Boston, Robert "Mousey" Thompson from the James Brown Band, Leroy Romans from the Wailers and the Brad Pitt of Rock and Roll...Danny Beisell from Fosterchild.

The guys are in the area to perform on Nantucket at a fundraiser for A Safe House on Friday night.

All are welcome to join in on Saturday. The music will get going around 9:00.
