A celebration tonight at Dreamland in Oak Bluffs honors the Vineyarders basketball team that traveled to TD Garden in Boston last week and came very close to beating Danvers in a nail-biter of a game.

An update on the MV Sports Facebook page reads,

Ok Folks... WE'RE NOT DONE QUITE YET!! We want to CELEBRATE with these CHAMPIONS and with YOU!!! Friday night @ Dreamland from 5:00-6:00. If you travelled to Boston for these boys...you can travel to OB for an hour to SHOW THEM we are proud of them for being SOUTHERN MASSACHUSETTS CHAMPIONS!!! If you've ever felt down and needed someone to help pick you up again, if you think making MV history is a remarkable thing, if you like to see, and MAKE, other people SMILE... This is the event FOR YOU!!! Let's now REALLY come together as a community and CELEBRATE...Come congratulate 2-time Boston Globe Coach of the Year, Michael Joyce and his team and coaching staff!!! Pictures, music, friends, and an up-lifting atmosphere for our student-athletes... LET'S PACK DREAMLAND like we packed the buses!! No money, no business... JUST SUPPORT and SMILES!!! Please BE THERE!!!!
