Dozens Of Animals Die In Martha's Vineyard Barn Fire

Officials believe a heat lamp may have caused the early morning blaze.

WEST TISBURY, MA – Dozens of animals died in a barn fire on Martha's Vineyard Tuesday morning, according to reports. The fire happened at Flat Point Farm, killing 50 chickens, 22 lambs, 12 sheep and two beef cattle.

The blaze was reported around 5 a.m. A barn was destroyed, several hundred bails of hay were burned and other structures were damaged.

Fire officials told the Martha's Vineyard Times a heat lamp likely caused the fire.
