Nantucket Airport Shutdown: 1 Runway Open
Emergency actions are underway following an incident with a departing aircraft that closed the airport Wednesday morning.

NANTUCKET, MA – One runway at Nantucket Airport has reopened after a shutdown Wednesday morning. An incident with a departing aircraft occurred around 7:25 a.m. and was reported by the airport on Twitter minutes later.
According to state police, a private plane's landing gear collapsed. No injuries have been reported.
Officials emphasize the response is not a drill. Emergency actions are underway and officials say an "Alert 3" is in progress.
