Oak Bluffs Firefighter Critically Injured In Motorcycle Crash

The firefighter remained in the hospital as of Tuesday morning.

OAK BLUFFS, MA – An Oak Bluffs firefighter was critically injured in a motorcycle crash early Sunday morning.

Police told the Vineyard Gazette 37-year-old Eric Voshell was riding with a female passenger whose sweater got caught in the motorcycle's back wheel. The wheel locked up and Voshell lost control of the motorcycle, according to the Gazette.

His passenger, Manchester, NH resident Heather Chartier, sustained minor injuries. Voshell was initially taken to Martha's Vineyard Hospital and later moved to Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, where he remained in critical condition Tuesday morning.

Voshell has been a call firefighter with the Oak Bluffs Fire Department for six years, the Gazette reported.
