The high school boys basketball team cruised to the semi finals of the MIAA tournament and won the Eastern Athletic Conference in February.
The boys basketball team's winning 19-4 season came to an end Wednesday night, when the team by Cardinal Spellman High School during the MIAA South Division 3 semi finals.
Scores of Vineyard fans made the trip to Sandwich High School to watch the hometown boys battle to the finish. The game ended 88 to 85 in double overtime.
Junior Peter Keaney, a standout throughout the season, racked up an astounding 44 points, double Cardinal Spellman's leading scorer Joey Glynn. After the final buzzer rang, Keaney was congratulated by the opposing players and coaches.

The Vineyarders won the Eastern Athletic conference title in February.
