The Martha's Vineyard Sharks used multiple scoring runs to mount an insurmountable lead against the Brockton Rox. Sharks starter John Cook (Amherst) went 8 innings, allowing just 5 runs and got the win for the Sharks. Jamie Faber (Union College) took the loss on the night, going just 5.2 innings.
Both teams were able to get on the board in the 2nd inning. The Rox got runs on RBIs from Garrett Kelly(Wake Forest), Jack Curtis (Wake Forest), and Brendan O'Brien (SNHU). In the bottom half of the inning, the Sharks were able to get 3 runs back on RBI-single from Ryan Siegel (Mercyhurst), Nick Sanford (UMASS), and Dylan Tice (IUP).Â
The teams were able to tie up the score 5-5 heading into the 6th inning. Davidson Peguero (Fisher College) ripped a 2-run double that broke the tie. Kevin Foley, Tad Gold, and Sanford were then all able to knock in runs, which put the Sharks up 10-5. Martha's Vineyard added 3 insurance runs on the 8th. Tice and Eric Brenk (Wofford) batted in 3 Sharks to put the score at 13-5. In the 9th inning, Andy Sadoski (Bridgewater St) came on to pitch for the Sharks. He allowed 6 runs to the Rox, but was able to close out the game 13-11.Â

Some changes to the schedule are as follows: Â August 10th is a rescheduled game with the Rox starting at 7, and the playoffs begin August 11th!
