The Martha's Vineyard Sharks were able to use late-game hitting to down the Brockton Rox, just 24 hours after playing them the previous night. Matt Timoney (Harvard) went 7 innings, allowed only 1 run and got the win for the Sharks, while Dylan Driscoll (Amherst) took the loss for the Rox.Â
Both pitchers were able to shut down the offenses until the 6th inning, when the Rox got a run on a Mitch Elliot (Xavier) RBI single. In the top of the 7th, the Sharks were able to get on the board in a big way. A Nick Sanford (Umass) fielders' choice scored Ryan Siegel (Mercyhurst) and Tad Gold (Endicott). Nik Campero (Umass), Davidson Peguero (Fisher), and Chris Miller (Seton Hill) were also able to drive in runs and the Sharks left the half inning up 5-1. Martha's Vineyard was able to add one two more insurance runs in the 8th, but it wasn't needed as the Rox were shut out after the 6th.Â
Ryan Siegel continues to lead the league in batting average, while Dylan Tice now leads in RBIs.Â
