Sharks Win First Game, Gear Up for a Second
The Island's new baseball team beat the Seacoast Mavericks 6-1 in their inaugural game.

The crowd was packed and the expectations high, but the Martha's Vineyard Sharks did not dissapoint. The new wooden-bat collegiate team won their inaugural game against the Seacoast Mavericks 6-1, scoring a triple in the fifth inning.
Did you miss the game? There's plenty more opportunities to catch them in action. They face off against the Mavericks tonight at 5 p.m. Gates open at 4 p.m.; tickets are $5, $3 for children. All Martha's Vineyard Boys & Girls Club members, Martha's Vineyard Cancer Support Group members and Martha's Vineyard Regional High School athletes get in for free.
