Town Of Edgartown: In-Law Apartments

The Boston Globe's article from July 11, 2021 explored an issue that we are very familiar with -- affordable housing -- and how some towns are working towards solutions.  Many towns and cities are mulling so-called "Accessory Dwelling Units  (ADU's) as one way to add housing without drastically altering the feel of neighborhoods.

That makes Edgartown more than slightly ahead of the curve.

Edgartown's Zoning Bylaw was amended in 1995 to allow ADUs for resident homeowners through the special permit process.  The zoning bylaw was put in place to
