Track Team Heads to State Championship
Six MVRHS athletes have qualified for the all-state track and field meet on Saturday.

Six track and field athletes have been ranked tops in the commonwealth. They will travel to the state championship this Saturday at Bridgewater State University.
Among those who , held May 27 and 28 at North Reading High School: Randall Jette, Jacob Lawrence, Rafael Maciel, Brian Montambault, Anthony Piland and Maggie Riseborough.
Riseborough, a sophomore, went undefeated in the Eastern Athletic Conference (EAC) for shot put. That streak continues; she’s now ranked number one in the state.

Jette, a multi-sport standout, ranked second in the state for the men’s 100-meter event. Earlier this year the senior topped the EAC.
Maciel, a junior, earned a spot in the state championship for his number-three ranked 400-meeter hurdle performance.

The 4X100 relay team is also ranked number three. Montombault (senior), Lawrence (sophomore), Piland (senior) and Jette comprise the team.
