Vineyard Haven Teen Hits, Kills Trader Joe's Worker: Police
Police said an 18-year-old from Vineyard Haven backed over Trader Joe's worker Diane Fichtel, 62, of Ashburnham.
ACTON, MA – An 18-year-old driver from Vineyard Haven struck and killed a Trader Joe's worker in Acton Tuesday night, police said. The male teen was backing out of spot and ran over Diane Fichtel, 62, of Ashburnham, according to acting Acton police Chief Richard Burrows. Fichtel was pronounced dead at the scene.
Burrows said an investigation into the crash is ongoing. The teen was driving a sport utility vehicle.
"It's appears accidental ... a horrible accident," Burrows told WBZ.
