MVY Music Hour Airs on FM Tonight

Starting tonight at 9, WCAI in Woods Hole is broadcasting local music during the MVY Music Hour with Barbara Dacey the last Sunday of each month at 90.1 FM.

While MVY Radio continues to be available to Island listeners only via the internet, one of its most popular hosts is returning to the airwaves in a monthly team-up with Cape and Islands public radio station WCAI, 90.1 FM in Woods Hole.

Spotlighting local artists, the MVY Music Hour with Barbara Dacey will air at 9 p.m. on the last Sunday of the month beginning this evening, station executives said.

The new partnership with WCAI was announced in early May.

“All of us at WCAI miss the sound of MVY on our local air. We are all fans of locally-grown radio,” said Jay Allison, WCAI station founder and host of Sunday Nights Arts and Ideas, in a statement.

“We are very pleased that WMVY was so quick to accept our invitation to bring the local Cape and Island music scene back to the local broadcast airwaves.”
