Woman Squatted in Martha's Vineyard Home, Had a Yard Sale, Police Say
Michelle Filkins, 44, of Wareham, allegedly lived in a Court Street home she didn't own for at least a week.

Police said a Wareham woman squatted in Martha’s Vineyard home for at least a week and had a yard sale, giving away dozens of furnishings for free.
Michelle Filkins, 44, was arrested at a residence on Court Street.
Police said Fillkins lived there for one or two weeks. A worker at a nearby residence saw her hold a yard sale and give away dozens of items for free, police said.

- 4 Crate & Barrel deck chairs
- 2 Crate & Barrel lamps
- 2 Ethan Allen side tables
- 2 framed posters
- All the linens
- Pots and pans
- Weber grill
- Painting by the homeowner
Filkins was charged with breaking and entering, larceny, and destruction of property.

Police asked people who received the items to return them; on Wednesday police said most of the items had been returned.
